Atgames Sega Genesis Classic Mod Code Running On
If anything why don't you guys try to make the hardware more useful by getting code running on it through the SD slot? Maybe port Picodrive or something to it.As for them being cheap presents, true. They aren't targeted at people who are fans of Sega's early systems because, shock, they would likely already own a Mega Drive/Genesis. More whining would make this thread even better!Or rather one could just take these for what they are cheap presents for young kids. I just email hyperkin what kind of games built in both system so here the listAtGames Arcade Fighting Stick built in games:ATGames 110 Games Motion Control Sonic System built in games:Hey guys I don't think you've made it clear that the emulation on atgames hardware is terrible and how they are destroying the grand reputation of sega.

Are they ARM-based or some proprietary design? I could run a Mega Drive emulator on my GP32 back in the day that used Picodrive's ARM-optimised 68000 core and an ARM-optimised z80 core at good speeds. In any case I don't think they would really care, the games still play OK for the most part. Also sega stopped giving a shit about it's reputation for quality shortly after the Dreamcast was released.Picodrive runs on hardware that is several dozen times more sophisticated than Digital Media Cartridge's Titan chipset used in the AtGames hardware and it took the community many years to make it run in full speed. The processors they use seem to be undocumented. Go figure. There are Mega Drive models that were released back in the day that had nasty sound and video problems and they were official sega products.
Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again. But the sound emulation is HORRIBLE!!! You know you have a messed up clone when you feel better muting the awesome Genesis Music and SFX. Video emulation isn't too bad, I will give them that. (Which can be fixed with TmEE's CCAM Mod for Model 2's)But there is no WAY I can deal with AtGames' products. I can even deal with the sound quality of a Model 2 and later Model 1's after owning a Model 1 HDG for almost twenty years.
They will have that Savestate feature in those two Atgames console in 2011. The worst revision of the Genesis/MD would run circles around any of the AtGames trash released and probably ever will be released.I just Email Atgames about the Two Atgames console having the Savestate to save you progress of the game they said they dont have that feature in those two 2010 Atgames console. It even boasted on the box: "Built-In Digital Sound and STEREO Music Synthesizer."You CANNOT compare an Official Sega Product with an AtGames product IMO.
I said it before on this thread, it´s really not a bad little console for the money, H.G.Some of the rabblesome posts about the AtGames company I've seen on this forum are entertaining. I have two Nomads, but lately when I don´t feel like hauling out the console, power cable, game cartridge and game gear super wide lens, I just fire up my Gopher and play. That kind of makes the Gopher more "true" to the original Nomad spirit of play (kind of like the glass half empty/half full thing, lol).
She is very happy with it, was surprised they make "new Mega Drives", and pleased with the selection of games available. It's a nice curio.I also bought my mum an AtGames handheld for Christmas as part of her present (one with no card slot, which has BLAZE. True that the sound is terrible - Sonic & Knuckles in particular, the extra life jingle sounds like death - but it provided me with plenty of humourous fun, and I don't regret the £20 I paid. I got one of those wireless Reactor things a while ago, out of curiosity (built in games + to see how bad it could be).
Of course everyone who wants to be outraged about AtGames is entitled. Which is fair enough, tbh - I like living amongst old Sega crap - but not everyone wants to live in such a mad way PSo. And isn't that the point, really - to enjoy the games, by whatever means present themselves? And when we were having the conversation about old Sega games that lead to me buying the handheld, I did ask - and she didn't want one of my original Mega Drives / some carts in the living room, because they are fussyclutter. She didn't notice the sound issues (though admittedly since after Xmas day she mostly plays with the sound off) nor has she complained about anything else, she's just enjoying the games.
